The Internet: Viewed by the Governing Body and Former JW's.
by AllTimeJeff init's sort of funny how the internet has turned into the bugaboo of the governing body's existence.
imagine the nerve of people masquerading as ip addresses, with no congregation secretary to track back to!.
of course, "apostates/former jw's" have a view of the internet that sometimes isn't all to realistic either.

AllTimeJeff hit the nail on the head...
The Internet in itself will not bring ANYTHING down, be it some ass-bkwds middle eastern dictatorship or an authoritarian religious sect.
It is the PEOPLE ON THE GROUND who hurt, suffer, bleed and die who ultimately effect change, the Internet just provides the (relatively) free flow of information. -

'Great Crowd' of 12 people get baptised at District Convention!!!
by burnedout inyesterday, out of 4,035 people in attendance at the dc, only 12 people were baptized.
that is one more than eleventeen and one less than a baker's dozen.. .
want to take a guess as to the age group of this 'great crowd?
-

I love how they always rope off about 50 seats for baptismal candidates and in reality they don't even hit double digits! At ours about 9(?) I think were baptized, about .5% of attendance which is high.
Interesting though...
Only one of the candidates looked like a young 'born-in'...
The rest seemed to be of the not-so-Internet-savvy age group of say 50+...
....not to say that you guys over 50 aren't Internet savvy!! -

Is this weird? JW FB comments
by serenitynow! inparadise-related greetings and meetup plans.
on a couple of jw fb sites, people often say things like "i'll see you in paradise," or "i'm going to travel and meet all of you guys in paradise and hang out with your lions.
" and on the jw news, library, etc.

As 'in' as I ever was 'into' this organization, I would have openly and freely described people who say crap like this as complete nutjobs.

just created a site www.jwfacts.com
by jwfacts ini just put together a site that tries to logically show the witnesses are not the true religion.
just wondering how to get the information out to people that most need it.
also any ideas on how to get the site found by search engines.

If there were only one website I could direct a person to regarding the truth about all of this nonsense, it would be jwfacts hands down.

How many will Jehovah KILL at armageddon?
by jean-luc picard inwell that depends on the world population.. .
if he had done it it 1914, he would only have killed 2 billion.. if he had done it in 1960, then he would have killed 3 billion.. if he had done it in 1975 ( so now we know why he didn't) he would only have had 4 billion to kill.. so is the question of when armaggedon will come, related to how many he wants to kill?.
interestingly this site ( but dont bother reading it all, its......well you'll see).

What Flipper said. It is so liberating to realize that the Big A is really a Big Zero.

Looks like the poor bastard's been 'reassigned' out of bethel with all his earthly possessions in a wheelbarrow from the shed.
Don't let the door hit your ass! -

When you step down...
by MrFreeze inwhen you step down is it announced at the hall?
ive never seen anyone step down when i went to the hall.
im wondering if they announced when i left..
-

I wasn't there when my announcement was read, but I believe all that is said is 'Brother so-and-so has been deleted as an elder' They definitely do not refer to the person as having 'stepped aside' or 'stepped down' or stepped anywhere.

Okay, further on Jean-Claude. This is disgusting, basically telling witnesses "give up your job, ignore your families needs if it conflicts with meetings"
by therevealer in7 jean-claude, in the central african.
republic, is a married elder with.
three children.

Even while still 'mentally in' these kinds of experiences enraged me. I always felt they had been fabricated by some pasty white, single, middle-aged male in bethel who has his room cleaned, slacks pressed, meals prepared and 100% job security. I always thought this kind of crap writing was insanely irresponsible. What took me so long?!
